Service

IndexGenie provides an online workspace for uploading PDF manuscripts, generating draft back-of-book indexes, previewing results, and exporting completed index files. Generated indexes are drafts and should be reviewed by a human editor before publication.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate account and billing information and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been misused.

Manuscripts and rights

You keep ownership of manuscripts, required-term files, and generated outputs. By uploading files, you confirm that you have the rights needed to process them in IndexGenie and you give us permission to store and process them only to provide, secure, and support the service.

Acceptable use

You may not use IndexGenie to upload unlawful material, infringe another person's rights, attack or overload the service, bypass limits, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.

Payments

Paid access may be sold as a one-time Single Book credit or another plan shown at checkout. Prices, limits, and included features are shown before payment. Payment processing is handled by the configured payment provider.

Refunds

A refund is granted when index generation failed and no usable generated index was made available for the paid book. To request a refund, contact support with your account email, book title, payment reference if available, and a short description of the failure.

Refunds are not granted only because a generated draft requires normal editorial review, style changes, term selection changes, or manuscript revisions after a usable index was produced.

Availability

We aim to keep IndexGenie available, but the service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, provider outages, security work, or operational issues. We may change or discontinue features when needed to operate the service responsibly.

Data protection

Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. IndexGenie is designed to support GDPR rights, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and contact for privacy requests.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IndexGenie is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, publication delays, or editorial decisions made from generated output. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page. Continued use of IndexGenie after an update means you accept the updated terms.
